Sometimes I wish I had a little room. Somewhere I would have to drive to get there, but not very far away. Somewhere I could be alone. It wouldn’t have to be too big.
Maybe an office. Just a small office in an old building. I could put a fancy sign on the door. ‘The Office of ImPerceptibility’ People would walk by and wonder what goes on in an office like that.
They wouldn’t be able to find out. I would put rice paper over the windows and another sign would be on the door. ‘Out to Lunch Will Return at’… and I would remove the little red arrows and leave them sitting by the stairs. I tend to have a weird sense of humor like that.
I could do wonderful things, or nothing at all. It wouldn’t matter. It would be my office, I would be alone, and it would be grand.

Hmmm. . . Putting rice paper over my office windows and hanging an “out to lunch” sign. This will have me daydreaming for days. If only I could get away with it. *sigh*

I read once that nick cave has an office and he goes there 4 to 5 times a week to write music. 9 to 5. Like a job. It was very strange.

<p>I think a lot of creative people do better with a little self-impossed order. The freedom and craziness that allows them to create is both necessary and detrimental to actually creating. They have to find way for them to put the madness into a form that makes sense to others. If they can’t find a way to do that, it’s just madness, not art. </p>

I want one too! Never mind the fact that I live only with my dog, and have all the privacy I want. Sometimes it would be nice to actually have another place to go that is ‘all mine.’

Maybe it’s a throw back from childhood. You know, throw a blanket over two chaors and suddenly you are on a grand adventure.
